The Chrysalis is a perfect example of nature's beauty and is a recurring theme in Steph Lusted Jewellery.I first designed these earrings back in 2015 as part of my original 'Chrysalis Collection'. These particular earrings have been made again in 2021 and there are only x2 pairs available. Please be aware that all Steph Lusted Jewellery pieces are handcrafted, therefore there are fine differences between each chrysalis, which is also part of their charm.
The design for these earrings developed from a long fascination with the chrysalis as an object and combine my strong passion and love of glass. The Chrysalis are hand carved then cast in glass which is a very time consuming process. Many waxes do not make the selection as the process can be very volatile when working with highly detailed works of this size. They feature a stunning colour combination of opaque almond with a beautiful translucent mint green. The glass is then finished with gold highlights, each chrysalis being completed with a cap of 18ct yellow gold. The twig shaped studs are crafted in sterling silver with a blackened finish.
